Joining St Mark's
St Mark's Co-operative do not own property. We have long-standing relationships with other groups who trust us to provide reliable members to suit their needs. These relationships are maintained by our members, who all work to help run the co-operative.
Those interested in joining St Mark's are interviewed to become Associate Members from our waiting list and can expect to wait some months or years before housing becomes available. They are expected to attend monthly General Meetings so they can learn about how a co-operative works.
Our properties are only suitable for single people and we do not house dependents. This is due to single people falling outside of the statutory right to access social housing and because they are also at a disadvantage in the private rental sector.
